Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal - Volunteer Visit
The children in each class received a visit from one of the Team Hope volunteers for the Christmas Shoebox appeal that we are taking part in this year. Jenny went through with the children what was acceptable to put in the boxes and different ideas of items to put in. She told lots of interesting stories about who receives the Christmas boxes and what its like for them. Overall it was a great talk and it was very good for the children to see and hear about underprivileged children in other countries and how by making a small gesture can make a big difference to another child’s life.
Thank you to Jenny for dropping in to Scoil San Eoin
Reminder to all parents: Leaflets have went home with the children for the shoebox appeal which show what you have to do. All boxes will be collected Friday 09th Nov from SSE.
Thank You

Liberty Clothing Collection Fundraiser (18-21st Nov)
Looking to do a clearout for Christmas?
We are having a school clothing collection in conjunction with Liberty Recycling. This is a great opportunity to get rid of clothes no longer needed while also helping to raise some money for the school.
The collection will be held during the week of Monday 18th until Thursday 21st November.
Each pupil will be issued with liberty bag/s for which they will use to put all items in for recycling. Parents can then drop the bags to the school between the week of the 18-21st Nov to be stored before being collected by Liberty Recycling on 22nd Nov
Bags will be issued in the coming weeks when we receive them from Liberty and will be sent home with the children. If you require more bags or know any family or friends that would like to take part, please request further bags from the office or a parent rep.
Some of our parent reps have very kindly offered to do local collections for anyone that cant get to the school or for anyone that is not a parent at the school but would like to donate. If you require a collection please contact a parent rep or the school office and we will try our best to organise.
Please spread the word locally and let people know that you do not have to be a parent or pupil to take part.
Also to remind everyone to please keep any bags of clothing if doing any clearouts before the week of the collection!
Thank you in advance for all contributions

Christmas Shoebox Appeal
We are taking part in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal again this year where we encourage each child to fill a shoebox with items from a designated list for Christmas. These shoeboxes are then delivered to underprivileged children all over the world. These children may never have received a present before, or live in difficult situations where basic necessities are hard to come by.
The benefits of the children being involved in this programme are getting to ‘‘feel good about doing something nice for others’’ and it can also help to teach your children about the world around them.
The deadline for drop off of the Christmas Shoeboxes for this year will be 08th November 2019. Please ensure that all shoeboxes have been brought to the school by this date.
Leaflets and further information will follow in the next few days with the children but we have included some helpful tips at the bottom of this post for anyone that wants to get started early!
Thank You!
