December in the Junior Room

The junior room children have been very busy in the month of December and the lead up to Christmas. Our theme for the month was Winter where we talked about Winter weather, Winter clothes and some animals associated with Winter such as the Penguin and the Irish Seal. In Gaeilge we covered An Aimsir learning lots of new vocabulary about Winter weather.

In the run up to another COVID Christmas we unfortunately were unable to have any visitors to the school or any outside trips but we made the best we could of this situation with lots of arts and crafts activities and of course plenty of practise for our classroom concert - we hope you all enjoyed this video posted on seesaw! Take a look at all the lovely work the children have completed and we hope their log decorations will bring joy to all households for many years. Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir!

The HSE has published detailed information and guidance for parents about COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 5-11. This aims to help parents and guardians of 5-11 year old children make an informed decision when it’s time for their child to be offered a COVID-19 vaccine.

Registration for the vaccine will open shortly, with priority being placed on children who are more at risk from COVID-19 or children who have a high-risk person in the family. The Grinch who Stole Christmas - Our Senior Room Christmas 2021 Performance

Covid wasnt going to spoil it for us… Our parents and lovely families could not come to Scoil San Eoin so we are bringing our performance to you!! Grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy our brilliant Christmas performance from our senior room pupils.

Let all your family know they can watch it on our website.

Well done to each and everyone of you. You all worked so hard and it showed in this brilliant performance. It wasn’t an easy task having to do it in the classroom, with pods in place and limited space and resources, but as usual everyone got into the spirit of Christmas and made the best of the situation. Creative juices flowed to turn a reading piece into a mini play by making props, adding in songs, costumes and props. Special mention to our excellent musicians Brian Jones on keyboard and Ronan Wynne on guitar. What a talented bunch you are!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

6th Class Festive Fun Decorating the tree & school - Dec 21

The senior room had lots of fun with Ms Hedderman on Friday being creative and decorating the school for the festive season ahead. After a super tough year for our pupils, it’s lovely to see the festive lights, decorations and cheer in the run up to to Christmas. They done a fantastic job. Have a look at our lovely tree and hallways.

November in the Junior Room

During the month of November we completed lots of activities on the theme of Homes. The children learned all about the different types of homes all over the world, built homes using lego and polydrons and completed art and craft activities on this theme. We learned all about 2D and 3D shapes in Maths and learned lots of new vocabulary of delicious Bia in Gaeilge. The children took part in some Science week activities and also completed their GAA and tennis coaching sessions during November. We are now looking forward to lots of fun activities in the run up to Christmas.
