The junior room done a brilliant performance of ‘‘The Donkey’s Christmas’’ and our senior room performed a very funny version of C-H-R—I-S-T-M-A-S spells Christmas.

Each and every one of our pupils should be extremely proud of themselves for working so hard and for getting up and delivering a brilliant show on the night.

We also had some festive songs from the amazing Brittas Bay Choir who sang some beautiful Christmas carols on the night. Thank you to Orla and all the members of the Brittas Bay Choir for giving up their time. It added a very special touch to the night.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated bags and who helped spread the word.

The fundraiser was a great success and it was all down to the Parents and members of the community.

Thank you also to Mossy and all the volunteers who gave their time so willingly to help load the truck this morning. We really appreciated all your help!

Pupils from the 3rd/4th class got to take part in a Cumann na mBunscoil hurling blitz in Aughrim on Friday 22nd Nov. They had a brilliant day and done the school so proud. It was so great that they got to take part and was a new experience for some of our pupils who hadn’t previously played.

Thank you to Cleo, Mandie and Laura for taking the time to volunteer to drive the pupils to the blitz and provide supervision while they were there as without them, pupils would not have been able to take part.

Well done to all the boys and girls in 3rd/4th class!

Arklow Music Festival Registration

arklow music festival.png

The Arklow Music Festival takes place next year from Sunday 07th March – Sunday 15th March 2020. If you are interested in your child/children competing in the Solo Verse speaking categories in the competition, sign and return the consent form issued Weds 20th Nov 2019 by Weds 27th Nov.

If taking part, children are issued poems by their class teacher. The material will be issued by the teachers for the relevant age category and then prepared for at home. Allocated time slots in various locations in Arklow will then be issued by the committee and passed on to the parent/guardians.  As this is not a whole school performance, parents will need to collect their child from school and bring them to their allocated location, remain with them and bring them back to school after their performance.

Cost is €3.00 and must be paid prior to the event to your class teacher or can be paid.

Sponsored Cycle - Thurs 24th Oct 2019

We had our first sponsored cycle on Thursday 24th Oct 2019. The skies were clear and the sun was shining to ensure that a great days cycling was had by all. Lots of brilliant parents came to help out on the day some cycled with the children, some parents, including our Parents Rep drove in front and behind to make sure the pupils and parents were safe, others helped the younger pupils navigate their way around Cullen Park and to and from the school, and other Parents Reps organised the very welcome refreshments at the end of the cycle. The boys and girls had a fantastic day both on the 7k route and in Cullen Pk and they were very proud of their achievement. It is a testament to the effort they have put in during the Cycle Right Programme and shows that we truly are and active school!! Thanks to all that sponsored the pupils and helped out on the day. Thanks to Claire Jenkinson who organised the Wicklow People to come and photograph the day and also sent in photos to the Wicklow Times. An amazing grand total of 1505.55 euro was raised in total. Well done all!!!
